Job Overview

Registered health care professional with proven leadership in operational clinical practice in an Emergency department, invited to support digital strategy implementation within Hywel Dda University Health Board.

This is a fixed term/secondment vacancy until 31/07/2027. Only staff currently employed by Hywel Dda University Health Board can apply. Secondment agreement required from current manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Lead Nurse and Chief Nursing Information Officer in digitalising clinical records across the health board.
  • Contribute to delivery of other strategic goals of the corporate team.
  • Work closely with Lead Informatics Nurse and a team of Informatics Health Care Professionals, liaising with the national Digital Health Care Wales project team.
  • Plan staff engagement, provide multi‑professional training and support across all staff groups before, during and after implementation.
  • Promote digital engagement and inclusion across the organisation and advocate benefits of digital working.
  • Work intensive periods, particularly during ‘go live’ phases; shift patterns over a 7‑day/24‑hour period.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and be able to travel regularly across all Health Board sites.
  • Promote and support patient safety and care improvement through digital system implementation.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Registered health care professional.
  • Proven track record of leadership in operational clinical practice and implementing or sustaining changes within an Emergency service department.
  • Experience in digital clinical systems (e.g., e‑Flow, e‑Obs, ePMA) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of digital strategy implementation within a health board setting is desirable.
  • Fluency in Welsh is desirable but not essential; English is required.
  • Capability to work clinical shift patterns over a 7‑day/24‑hour period and travel across sites.
