The Acute Oncology Nursing Service is now a well-established service within Hywel Dda University Health Board. We are looking for a motivated and reliable Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the current team, providing excellent clinical skills to review patients admitted with either complications of anti-cancer treatment, complications of malignancy or new diagnosis of malignancy during an emergency admission.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of the Health Board's Cancer Treatment Triage line and work autonomously to manage own workload.
- Provide specialist oncology nursing advice, guidance, support and leadership.
- Review patients with complications of anti-cancer treatment, complications of malignancy or new diagnosis of malignancy during emergency admissions.
- Provide specialist education and training to staff.
- Support the care of inpatients requiring specialist oncology advice.
- Occasional shifts to support the Health Board Cancer Treatment Triage Line.
The post is based at Bronglais General Hospital and is a seven-day working post, including weekend shifts pro rata. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
