The predicted salary is between 46134 - 56386 £ per year.

This is a fixed term/secondment vacancy until 15/09/2027. If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee and are applying for this post as a secondment, agreement for the secondment is needed from your current manager prior to application.

The successful applicant will provide liaison between IPTS and the Local Primary Mental Health Support Service (LPMHSS), with a focus on supporting the group therapy programme. They will enhance and support the psychological care of clients, service evaluation and development within IPTS under the supervision of a qualified psychologist. Client work will involve carrying out clinical assessments, under clinical supervision, as well as psychological interventions with a focus on group interventions. The service evaluation part of the role will involve conducting audits, collecting data and contributing to research papers. There will also be the opportunity to participate in NHS initiatives and training to support continued professional development as required.

Main duties of the job:

  • Act as liaison and point of contact for Low Intensity group facilitators.
  • Assist in the development and co-facilitation of therapeutic groups.
  • Undertake protocol-based psychological assessment of clients using psychological tests, including self-report measures, rating scales and semi-structured interviews with clients.
  • Where appropriate, gain additional information from family members and others involved in the client’s care.
  • Assist in the formulation and delivery of care and treatment plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s problem, under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist within settings appropriate to the service.
  • Write clinical reports and correspondence to referrer under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
  • Attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings.
  • Work independently, reliably and consistently to a high standard and will be responsible for managing their own caseload and prioritising daily tasks, with work agreed and managed at regular intervals.
  • Be required to work within guidelines and will receive weekly supervision and direction from their clinical supervisor.
  • Adhere to Hywel Dda UHB policies and procedures and relevant legislation including the requirements of relevant professional bodies.
