An opportunity has arisen for a full-time, proactive, experienced, and people-focused professional to join the Administration Management Team within the Carmarthen locality of the MH&LD Clinical Care Group. With a proven ability to manage, support, and co‑ordinate a team, whilst promoting engagement, development, and high standards of performance, this key role offers the opportunity to make a real impact through strong, visible leadership and by contributing to service improvement across the Clinical Care Group.

Main duties of the job

  • You will be responsible for managing a varied workload, ensuring daily administrative tasks are prioritised effectively to maintain a high‑quality service.
  • This includes arranging and delivering Health Board system training, coordinating staff inductions, and keeping track of compliance with PADR targets and mandatory training requirements.
  • You will also oversee staff absences in line with policy, monitor administrative capacity, and lead all aspects of the recruitment process.
  • In addition, the role involves arranging and chairing meetings on behalf of the MH&LD CCG Administration Manager, providing administrative support when needed, carrying out regular one‑to‑one supervision sessions, and managing monthly Welsh Government reporting.
  • This post holder will also play a key role in overseeing and implementing service changes within the MH&LD CCG Administrative Department.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Appropriate degree level qualification or an extensive equivalent level of experience
  • Fully proficient in the use of IT software packages including Office 365
  • Thorough knowledge of Policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge of NHS processes
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Experience

  • Experience of managing administrative staff
  • Aware of data protection and confidentiality
  • Evidence of report writing and excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Proven track record of change management
  • Experience of working in a large public sector or private organisation

  • Ability to work flexibly to support service needs
