An exciting time to join the team in Ceredigion Same Day Urgent Care Service as an Entry Level Emergency Nurse Practitioner. You will, as part of a planned educational programme, develop skills in assessment, diagnosis, treatment and discharge/transfer of patients under supervision and in accordance with agreed clinical guidelines.

Main duties of the job:

  • The successful candidates will learn to clinically assess care needs and develop, implement and evaluate patients without supervision.
  • You will support and work in conjunction with the Senior Sister who has continuing managerial responsibility for the minor streams.
  • They will see, treat and discharge patients with minor injuries and illness within a scope of practice and be expected to successfully complete the Agored Level 7 Diploma in the Autonomous Management of Minor Injuries (Wales) QCF within an agreed timeframe, commencing on 1st September 2026.
  • The post holder will need the ability to embrace personal and differing behaviours on a daily basis.

  • With educational and practice progression, the role demands the experienced staff member to gain clinical expertise, ensuring the provision of safe, effective and efficient care and the ability to independently discharge/refer patients within their scope of practice.
  • Coordinates and supervises the team of nursing and support staff through effective leadership within the minors stream.
  • The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties. We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
