Positions
- Two Principal Clinical Technologist roles are available: one at Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth, and another at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry the full responsibility for leadership of the Clinical Engineering department at your respective site.
- Oversee day‑to‑day activities of the Clinical Engineering function and manage a portfolio of approximately 30,000 medical devices.
- Own and deliver specific projects that relate to medical devices, developing them over time based on your skills and the needs of the department.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of technologists, apprentices, administrative staff and the equipment librarian resident at the site.
- Collaborate with the wider Clinical Engineering team across the four acute sites within the Health Board to ensure compliance and maximise performance of medical devices.
- Report directly to the Head of Clinical Engineering and provide oversight for the device lifecycle, from procurement to decommissioning.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Registered health‑care professional with experience in medical device engineering or related field.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Desirable: ability to communicate in Welsh; the Health Board offers learning options to meet Welsh language requirements.
- Willingness to work across multiple sites and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
