We are delighted to offer a newly created Band 6 Clinical Lead Pharmacy Technician post based at Bronglais Hospital.
This rare and exciting opportunity is for an experienced and motivated Pharmacy Technician to advance clinical pharmacy technician services within Hywel Dda University Health Board.
This post reflects the growing and evolving role of Pharmacy Technicians in delivering high‑quality, patient‑focused care.
A key element is supporting technicians to train within ward‑based clinical services, developing the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed for effective patient‑facing roles and contributing to clinical service development.
Operational duties include staff supervision, performance support, recruitment, workforce planning, and fostering a positive team culture.
Main duties of the job
- Act as clinical leader for Pharmacy Technician services, supporting and developing ward‑based practice to enhance patient‑focused care.
- Design, coordinate and deliver education and training programmes enabling Pharmacy Technicians to build competencies required for clinical roles, including supervision and assessment in practice.
- Line manage staff, support performance and development, contribute to recruitment and workforce planning, and promote a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Lead the organisation and delivery of undergraduate pharmacy student placements, working collaboratively with education providers and the multidisciplinary team to ensure a high‑quality learning experience and to support safe and effective use of medicines across the organisation.
- The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
