Job Overview

This is a Fixed Term/Secondment until 31/08/2027.

If you are a Hywel Dda University Health Board employee applying as a secondment, agreement from your current manager is required prior to application.

The role is for a Cardiac Physiologist within the Cardiac and Respiratory Department, focused on delivering high‑quality diagnostic cardiac investigations and contributing to excellent patient care across diverse clinical settings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of high‑quality cardiac and respiratory diagnostic investigations that support diagnosis, treatment and management of patients.
  • Undertake and report on diagnostic tests including ECGs, ambulatory monitoring, exercise tolerance testing and potentially pacemaker follow‑up.
  • Provide technical support during invasive cardiology procedures.
  • Monitor patient observations, recognise and escalates urgent clinical findings.
  • Maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Contribute to the training and development of junior staff and students.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) or equivalent.
  • Registered (or eligible for registration) with AHCS.
  • Demonstrated competence in a range of cardiac investigations.
  • Excellent communication skills, commitment to quality and safety, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Location

The base will be Bronglais General Hospital or Withybush General Hospital; the preferred base location can be discussed at interview.
