Permanent full-time Band 2 Medical Laboratory Assistant post within the Pathology Reception team of the Blood Science Department at Bronglais Hospital, Aberystwyth. The post is 37.5 hours per week with a working pattern of Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
Responsibilities
- Receive and handle samples.
- Enter patient details into the Laboratory computer system.
- Transport samples to laboratory areas.
- Act as first point of contact for patients and nursing/medical staff (both face-to-face and by telephone inquiries).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Full in-house training will be provided upon commencement under the direction of the Pathology Reception Team Leader.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Keyboard and computer skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as work alone and use own initiative.
- Desirable: ability to speak Welsh; English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome.
- Desirable: ability to communicate in Welsh; non‑Welsh speakers may receive learning support during employment.
