Are you ready for an exciting opportunity to join Hywel Dda University Health Board's Public Health Team? We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Public Health Directorate and contribute to a wide range of impactful projects across the domains of public health (Health Improvement / Health Protection / Healthcare Public Health). You will play a key role in tackling health inequalities and preventing ill‑health across our communities by helping to deliver the ambitions set out in our Public Health strategic plans.

Main duties of the job:
- Contribute to the planning, development and delivery of programmes and initiatives to promote health and wellbeing in our communities.

- Monitor and evaluate public health programmes using data analysis and evidence‑based approaches.
- Support the prevention agenda by leading and contributing to key strategies and programmes that improve population health and wellbeing, and reduce health inequalities.
- Work in a matrix structure to support the wider team's functions and priorities.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and the bordering counties. We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in‑hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services. Person Specification:
Qualifications and Knowledge:
- Degree or equivalent in a related field.
- Knowledge of the health policy context for NHS and local partners.
- Knowledge of one or more public health/health promotion programme areas.
- Knowledge of health determinants.
- Masters in Public Health / Health Promotion.
- Registered, or working towards registration, with the UK Public Health Register (Practitioner Registration).
- Evidence of continuing personal and professional development.
- Practical knowledge of public health practice, health promotion models and community development.
Experience:
- Post‑graduate level of public health work and experience in undertaking health promotion activity with communities, groups or in key settings.
- Experience of working with a range of partner organisations relevant to health improvement.
- Experience in establishing new initiatives or programmes.
- Experience of public health or health promotion.
- Experience of working with communities.
Other:
- Ability to travel between sites in a timely manner to meet the needs of the service.
- Welsh speaker (Level 1).
