JOB PURPOSE

As Senior Community Development Executive, you will play a pivotal role in expanding, engaging and retaining our Global Shipper Network– a high‑value community of project cargo decision‑makers across our four international Breakbulk events in Dubai, Rotterdam, Singapore and Houston. Reporting to the Community Development Manager, you will take day‑to‑day ownership of shipper outreach and conversion, lead targeted research to expand our data universe, and support the development and optimisation of the Breakbulk mobile app and other community platforms. This is a senior hands‑on role ideal for someone confident with outbound engagement, highly organised and comfortable using digital tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, HubSpot and AI‑powered research platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead proactive outreach to recruit new shippers across EMEA, Americas and APAC through phone calls, LinkedIn outreach, email and networking.
  • Qualify prospects and convert them into confirmed attendees, ensuring strong representation of key sectors and regions.
  • Manage ongoing communication with shipper prospects and community members, ensuring personalised and timely engagement.
  • Own research projects that identify new shipper prospects, organisations and senior decision‑makers using LinkedIn Navigator, AI data tools and market mapping.
  • Support the development of detailed visitor personas and segmentation through surveys, interviews and behavioural insights.
  • Maintain and enrich community datasets to support targeted outreach and improved engagement strategies.
  • Support the setup, testing and enhancement of the official Breakbulk mobile app, ensuring shipper pathways, networking features and meeting tools work seamlessly.
  • Assist in maintaining community‑facing platforms, FAQs, chatbots and user support features in partnership with the Manager and Marketing.
  • Coordinate data flows between the mobile app, HubSpot and community systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide high‑level support onsite at Breakbulk events, including shipper registration, lounge management, high‑value introductions and meeting facilitation.
  • Help deliver VIP roundtables, receptions and curated experiences aligned with community needs and priorities.
  • Ensure shippers feel supported from pre‑event onboarding to onsite engagement and post‑event follow‑up.
  • Deliver structured follow‑up campaigns via calls, surveys and targeted messaging to re‑engage past attendees and strengthen loyalty.
  • Track engagement to identify emerging super users, high‑potential prospects and lapsed members.
  • Work closely with the Community Development Manager, Event Directors, Marketing and Content teams to support cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Contribute to reporting, insight decks, outreach templates and recommendations that guide community strategy.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of new event activations, onsite experiences and engagement concepts that elevate the value delivered to the Global Shipper Network.
  • Identify creative ideas or digital enhancements that strengthen shipper engagement, improve event touchpoints and contribute to continuous improvement across Breakbulk events.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Experience in working with senior stakeholders and delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Knowledge of the maritime / shipping industry would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Consistency in achieving KPI’s and goals.
  • Excellent team player but also able to work autonomously.
  • Confident communicator who enjoys speaking with senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced events environment.
