Role Summary: As a Sales Development Manager at Hyundai, you will be responsible for managing the performance of approximately 20 retailers in a designated geographic area, ensuring the achievement of sales targets for new and used cars. You will drive lead conversion, oversee stock management, ensure financial, and marketing goals are met. Additionally, you will work closely with retailer management to align strategies, enhance customer service, and ensure compliance with brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring the Areas annual new car and used car targets are successfully agreed with retailers and creating plans to recover any shortfall to ensure delivery of business plan volumes.
- Ensuring those targets are met or exceeded on a monthly and quarterly basis using accurate forecasting to track performance to deliver required volumes, mix and Co2 results.
- Responsible for establishing effective lead management processes in every retailer.
- Utilise HUMK systems to drive lead conversions and perform deep dive reviews of active leads with recommendations on how to improve performance, identifying required levels to achieve targets.
- Utilising HMUK market share platform to achieve brand market share targets in the retailer sales channels: Private, Affinity, Motability and Contract Hire and Leasing and ensuring that the retailers comply with the demonstrator and service loan car fleet requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring the Area meets the targets for finance penetration and finance renewals.
- Management of retailer orders need to ensure they are correctly coded in line with the defined order types.
- Responsible for the stock management, planning, stock holding and age of units to align to local markets, HMUK growth strategy and marketing campaigns to maximise stock turn and minimise over age.
- Responsible for ensuring retailers have adequate sales capacity in new and used car sales executives and sales management to achieve the new and used car targets.
- Responsible for working closely with retailer management, to ensure that their short-, medium- and long-term plans and performance are aligned and integrated with HMUK strategy.
- Responsible for ensuring retailers invest in sufficient marketing activity, by media and model to generate sufficient leads and enquiries through each of the retailer sales channels: Private, Affinity, Motability, and Contract Hire and Leasing.
- Utilise the HMUK Balanced Scorecard to review and develop plans to improve dealer rankings across all pillars sales related pillars working with Colleagues from Hyundai Capital, Marketing, Supply Aftersales and Network Development to ensure a cohesive and consistent aligned approach.
- Retailer learning where retailer processes can be refined and adapted in the pursuit of the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Administrative Management – All meetings with retailers must have a pre‑defined agenda provided to the retailer management in advance of the meeting. A visit report of all agreed action points needs to be sent to the retailers and kept for future record using the Visit Reporting platform.
About you:
- Ability to effectively engage and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders within the retailer businesses and HMUK.
- A thorough understanding of the core processes necessary to deliver sales results from the retailers within the Area.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen.
- Ability to understand the retailers' composite financial data and the relationship to their daily/weekly operating controls.
- Able to align HMUK's objectives to the retailers' profitability.
- Understanding of retailer marketing strategies, sufficient to provide valuable input and insight at a retailer operational level to leverage national campaigns and activities.
- Ability to identify commercial opportunities in the local and national marketplace.
- Strong financial and business acumen, commensurate with the evolving demands of the role.
- Ability to review all levels of a dealer sales department to identify opportunities and lead the retail centre management to construct a concise plan of action to realise additional business.
- Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office packages.
