Role Summary
The Supply Planning Analyst supports the effective management of UK new vehicle supply to ensure sales volume and profitability targets are achieved. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining monthly production requirements, model rundowns, and sensitivity tracking to assess sales performance from dealer stock versus monthly arrivals. By closely monitoring feasible registration and wholesale volumes and aligning production with quarterly sales campaigns, the Supply Planning Analyst plays a key role in delivering commercial objectives. The role also involves implementing metrics to track build-to-order vehicle specifications, using insights to guide future stock configurations, and collaborating with HME and factory representatives to secure production allocations, coordinate shipments, and support forward order planning.
Key Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the Head of Volume & Supply Planning, develop key supply and stocking strategies.
- Work alongside the Sales Campaign Analyst to overcome product constraints and align the supply model and version to campaign phase offers.
- Manage the monthly retailer allocation volume per retailer to secure sufficient orders from the network to place factory orders.
- Manage current customer backorders and reduce OTD lead time.
- Support monitoring of sales campaign strategies in relation to achieving wholesale targets and advise on recommendations to continually improve.
- Work alongside the Head of Volume & Supply Planning to prepare monthly production order pack.
- Support the Head of Volume & Supply Planning to run the monthly production order meetings.
- Support and work alongside the Product and Planning team to ensure effective vehicle run-out and new vehicle launch.
- Bi-weekly/monthly meetings with HME & factories; prepare analysis files to discuss production and shipments.
Accountabilities
- Support Production Planning and Ordering meetings involving key stakeholders.
- Create production rundown pack in advance of monthly production planning and ordering meetings and circulate to all attendees prior to the meeting.
- Support analysis of fastest selling versions for each model and ensure adequate stock cover against each version.
- Ensure sold order analysis enables effective tracking of sold cover by version and model, measuring order reach and preventing sold order backlog.
- Ensure that the monthly production orders are submitted to all HMC plants in a timely and accurate manner.
- Establish and highlight potential future stock shortages and propose solutions to mitigate their effect.
- Work in cooperation with the Sales Campaign Analyst to design phase campaigns to prevent order backlog and gear offers around the organization’s ability to supply.
