We design, engineer, manufacture, sell and service a comprehensive line of lift trucks, attachments and power and technology solutions, marketed primarily under the Hyster® and Yale® brand names.
Reporting to the Application Engineering Supervisor – Warehouse, the Application Engineer I will learn and understand customers’ needs in order to define the right solution with the best value proposition to win new business while working closely with Solutions, Engineering, Marketing and Sales teams. This is a full‑time permanent position based at the European Divisional Support Centre (EdSC) in Irvine (Scotland) or Craigavon (Northern Ireland). The role is available for hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HYG sales team and dealers with timely and accurate SPED quotations.
- Assist major account sales in responding to RFQs.
- Perform application interviews with customers and conduct application assessments on‑site.
- Support creation of industry/application guides with product and industry managers.
- Assist in development of industry strategies for metals, paper, construction, logistics, and wood.
- Market/promote SPED to the dealer community.
Qualifications and Knowledge Required
- Degree level, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Understanding of the different applications and their specific product needs.
- Ability to create spreadsheets, reports, analyse data and draw conclusions.
- 0–1 year(s) experience working with sales and engineering functions and internal training.
- 0–1 year(s) experience working with customers, identifying and satisfying their needs and internal training.
