We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Field Service & Commissioning Engineer to join our growing technical operations team. This role is critical in delivering world-class installation, commissioning, maintenance, and technical support services across our power and energy solutions portfolio. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring maximum system performance, customer satisfaction, and long-term reliability of deployed equipment. Responsibilities
- Perform installation, testing, and commissioning of new power and UPS systems in accordance with company procedures and customer specifications.
- Configure and customise system settings to suit site-specific operational environments.
- Conduct functional testing and verification activities using approved method statements and commissioning protocols.
- Ensure all commissioning documentation, reports, and databases are accurately updated and maintained.
- Support project delivery teams to ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance activities on installed equipment in line with manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnose electrical and system faults across installed product ranges and implement effective technical solutions.
- Respond to customer breakdowns and emergency service calls, providing rapid troubleshooting and repair support.
- Participate in an on-call support rota following successful completion of probation.
- Escalate recurring technical issues and provide detailed feedback to Technical Operational Support teams to support continuous product improvement.
- Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and engineering best practice at all times.
- Deliver customer training on the safe and effective daily operation of installed systems.
- Conduct technical training sessions for distributors and partners to enhance product knowledge and service capability.
- Build strong, long-term relationships with customers through professional communication and technical expertise.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, representing the business with professionalism and integrity on customer sites.
- Support wider departmental and strategic business initiatives as required.
The Candidate
- Technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities.
- Experience in commissioning, servicing, or maintaining electrical power systems, UPS systems, or related equipment.
- Ability to work independently in customer-facing environments with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer-service mindset.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
- Experience working with critical power infrastructure, UPS systems, or industrial electrical systems.
- Previous field service or commissioning engineering experience.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance methodologies and reporting systems.
- Experience delivering technical training or customer demonstrations.
