yreus are currently recruiting for an Installation Electrician to support electrical installation, commissioning, and certification works across commercial, industrial, and critical infrastructure projects in the UK.
This role will suit a qualified electrician with strong experience in regulated environments, capable of working independently, completing certification, and maintaining high standards of safety and compliance. Role requires regular travel across UK project sites, with Monday–Friday working pattern.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, commissioning, maintenance, and servicing of electrical systems
- Ensure works are delivered safely, to specification, and within agreed timeframes
- Coordinate day-to-day site activities and manage workload priorities
- Resolve technical and installation issues as they arise on site
- Ensure all electrical works comply with BS 7671 and relevant regulations
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to maintain high workmanship standards
- Complete electrical testing, inspection, and certification accurately and on time
- Upload certification via approved compliance platforms
- Perform insulation resistance, earth continuity, RCD, and functional testing
- Validate test results and report non-conformances where identified
- Support final sign-off and handover processes
- Produce accurate site documentation including test results, as-built drawings, risk assessments, and certificates
- Maintain clear records for audits, inspections, and future reference
- Issue completion and compliance documentation upon project close-out
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults
- Support commissioning of new systems in line with manufacturer specifications
- Minimise downtime through effective problem-solving
- Work in full compliance with company and site H&S procedures
- Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) processes where required
- Complete task-specific risk assessments and implement control measures
- Actively promote safe working practices on site
- Liaise with Project Managers regarding progress and certification status
- Coordinate with other trades to ensure efficient site operations
- Provide guidance and support to junior electricians and apprentices
- Follow company and project-specific procedures and workflows
- Complete timesheets, expense claims, and goods receipt documentation accurately
- Support stock control and documentation reviews with project teams
Candidate Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
- Gold ECS Card
- Current BS 7671 qualification
- Inspection & Testing qualification (City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent)
- Experience working in critical or high-risk environments
- Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable
- Experience with UPS, DC systems, and BMS
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- First Aid at Work
- PASMA / IPAF
- Data centre or critical infrastructure experience
- Manufacturer-specific training
- Strong commercial awareness and client-facing experience
