We are working on behalf of a fantastic client to source a detail-driven BMS Quotation Engineer to support the development of accurate and competitive proposals for Building Management System projects. This role combines technical expertise in BMS and HVAC controls with strong commercial awareness, ensuring solutions are both technically sound and commercially viable. You will work closely with sales, engineering, and delivery teams to translate project requirements into clear, compliant, and well-structured quotations.
Responsibilities:
- Review tender documentation, technical specifications, and project drawings to define scope and system requirements
- Produce comprehensive BMS cost proposals, including equipment selections, labour calculations, system architecture, and optional enhancements
- Assess project needs and recommend suitable control strategies, field devices, and system integration approaches
- Liaise with sales teams to clarify client requirements and refine proposal strategies
- Work with engineering and operations teams to confirm the technical feasibility of proposed solutions
- Develop detailed cost estimates using internal pricing structures, supplier quotations, and productivity benchmarks
- Prepare supporting technical documentation such as compliance statements, submittals, and system descriptions
- Maintain and update estimating tools, pricing databases, and quotation templates
- Ensure all submissions align with internal quality standards and remain commercially competitive
- Provide technical input during client discussions, bid reviews, and clarification meetings
- Monitor quotation status and support smooth handover to project delivery teams following award
The Candidate:
- Strong technical knowledge of Building Management Systems and HVAC control principles, including sequences of operation and field instrumentation
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, control schematics, I/O schedules, and technical specifications
- Experience working with common BMS communication protocols and platforms such as BACnet, Modbus, and Niagara/Tridium
- Proven ability to produce accurate technical estimates and cost calculations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating or quotation software tools
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to coordinate across technical and commercial teams
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Comfortable working to deadlines and managing multiple bid submissions simultaneously
