Got an engineering background but fancy something a little more commercial?

Perhaps you're an Engineering Graduate looking for your first proper career opportunity.

Or maybe you're already working in manufacturing or engineering and would enjoy combining your technical knowledge with customer contact.

Either way, this could be a great move.

We're recruiting a Technical Sales Engineer for an established and successful manufacturing business.

This isn't a cold-calling sales job. It's about understanding what customers need, working out how best to deliver it and making sure the technical and commercial details stack up.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Handling customer enquiries and technical requirements
  • Reading engineering drawings and specifications
  • Preparing quotations and following up opportunities
  • Working out how customer requirements can be met in production
  • Liaising with customers, production and technical teams
  • Keeping track of enquiries, quotations and orders
  • Helping turn enquiries into profitable business

What We're Looking For

  • An engineering qualification, degree or relevant practical experience
  • Some understanding of engineering drawings and specifications, or the ability to learn
  • Good communication skills and a commercial mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Someone comfortable dealing with customers and solving problems

You don't need previous sales experience.

If you've worked in manufacturing, engineering, technical support or estimating, we'd be interested.

Equally, an enthusiastic Engineering Graduate with the right attitude could be ideal.

What's On Offer?

A varied, office-based position with an established manufacturer, proper training, a supportive team and the opportunity to develop into more senior technical or commercial roles.

Interested?

If you've got a technical mind, enjoy dealing with people and want a role that offers more than purely engineering or purely sales, we'd love to hear from you.
