An innovative organisation in the technology consultancy space is looking for a Java Developer. This role involves working within a critical programme for a major financial services client to renovate their Prime Brokerage and Securities Finance technology estate by building a new consolidated trade capture platform.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Contribute to the design and build of a new consolidated Trade Capture and Post-Trade Processing platform for Securities Finance transactions.
  • Develop and enhance backend services using Java and Scala, contributing to both greenfield builds and legacy migrations.
  • Participate in architecture and system design discussions and justify technical design decisions.
  • Build and maintain mission‑critical applications and GUIs used by front‑office and middle‑office users.
  • Work collaboratively within an Agile development squad to deliver high‑quality, well‑tested code in a fast‑paced environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong foundation in core Java development with the ability to learn and use Scala extensively.
  • Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and core software engineering principles.
  • Proven architecture and system design capability, including the ability to decompose complex problems.
  • Experience building and supporting production systems in a high‑pressure delivery environment.
  • Legally authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
