An innovative organisation in the technology consultancy space is looking for a Java Developer. This role involves working within a critical programme for a major financial services client to renovate their Prime Brokerage and Securities Finance technology estate by building a new consolidated trade capture platform.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Contribute to the design and build of a new consolidated Trade Capture and Post-Trade Processing platform for Securities Finance transactions.
- Develop and enhance backend services using Java and Scala, contributing to both greenfield builds and legacy migrations.
- Participate in architecture and system design discussions and justify technical design decisions.
- Build and maintain mission‑critical applications and GUIs used by front‑office and middle‑office users.
- Work collaboratively within an Agile development squad to deliver high‑quality, well‑tested code in a fast‑paced environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong foundation in core Java development with the ability to learn and use Scala extensively.
- Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and core software engineering principles.
- Proven architecture and system design capability, including the ability to decompose complex problems.
- Experience building and supporting production systems in a high‑pressure delivery environment.
