Our client is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to support the finance function during a critical reporting period. This is a hands-on assignment requiring strong technical accounting expertise, particularly around year-end processes , VAT reporting , and stakeholder management.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and act as the key liaison between the Board and the organisation's finance provider, ensuring accurate reporting and smooth communication throughout the engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of year-end accounts and related reporting requirements.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Take ownership of VAT returns and VAT compliance activities.
- Act as the primary finance contact between the Board and the outsourced finance provider.
- Support audit preparation and respond to auditor queries as required.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Assist with process improvements and ad hoc finance projects.
Essential Experience
- PSFinancial experience
- Strong experience in a Financial Accountant position.
- Proven track record of managing year-end accounting processes.
- Hands-on VAT experience, including preparation and submission of returns.
- Experience working closely with Boards, Directors, or senior leadership teams.
- Previous experience working with outsourced finance providers or external accounting partners.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Able to work autonomously and deliver results quickly in an interim capacity.
