About Hypervolt Limited
Hypervolt is at the forefront of the electric vehicle charging revolution and is dedicated to providing innovative and reliable EV charging solutions. We launched in 2021 with the bold ambition to transform the EV charging space through a relentless focus on the customer experience, great software, and beautifully designed British hardware.
The Role
The Head of Retail will own Hypervolt's inbound consumer sales operation-leading a growing team responsible for converting high-volume inbound demand into revenue. With an average order value of ~£1k, success requires mastery of velocity sales motions, data-driven management, coaching excellence, and deep collaboration with marketing, product, and e-commerce teams. This is a high-impact, highly cross-functional leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, metrics-oriented environment and knows how to scale people, processes, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead & Scale the Inbound Retail Sales Team: Manage a team of inbound sales professionals focused on high-velocity consumer sales. Build team structure, hiring plans, workflows, and performance expectations as the retail business scales. Monitor daily productivity, conversion rates, and adherence to sales processes.
- Data-Driven Performance Management: Analyse team and individual performance using Twilio dashboards, HubSpot reports, and internal BI tools. Identify bottlenecks in the sales funnel, diagnose performance issues, and implement targeted improvements. Manage the team rigorously against key metrics including conversion rate, response times, pipeline health, and revenue.
- Coaching, Training & Enablement: Deliver ongoing coaching focused on closing skills, qualification, objection handling, consultative engagement, and operational excellence. Develop and implement structured sales training programs that continually upskill the team. Conduct regular call reviews, QA evaluations, and performance conversations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the performance marketing team to optimise lead quality, targeting, and campaign conversion. Partner with the web and e-commerce teams on improvements to online checkout, website flows, and product presentation. Provide customer insight and frontline feedback to Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to influence roadmap and strategy.
- Sales Operations & Administration: Oversee sales management tasks including SLA adherence, lead routing, contact strategy, pipeline hygiene, scheduling, and documentation. Maintain and evolve sales processes, CRM workflows, and reporting standards in HubSpot. Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements related to consumer sales.
- Forecasting & Revenue Management: Deliver accurate short- and long-term revenue forecasts for the retail segment. Monitor pacing vs. targets, identify risks early, and put corrective actions in place. Build scenarios and insights that support strategic planning and leadership decision-making.
