About the role and the Team:

As a Network Maintenance Engineer, you need to be an experienced, highly skilled individual, motivated, logical and quick to react. You will be responsible for the upkeep and improvement of our network infrastructure. You\'ll be joining a hardworking and dedicated team and will play an integral part in delivering, configuring and constantly improving our network to ensure a fantastic customer experience as we grow.

Network operations is accountable for designing, planning, building, maintaining and operating a fully redundant platform that meets its availability and capacity targets, optimising cost and designed to scale in line with customer growth and new requirements. The purpose of this role is to maintain the network and ensuring that outages are solved as quick as possible, and the network is held up to quality standards.

What will you be doing?

  • Assist the NOC department in network upgrades and proactive maintenance.
  • Assisting various departments in the deployment of new sites / new network
  • Carrying out day-to-day maintenance of existing infrastructure
  • Support the Lead Engineer/Manager and the team to ensure the key deliverables are maintained and delivered
  • Installing, configuring and testing new network equipment
  • Adhering to good practice guidance and comply with health, safety and welfare policies including procedures relating to the reporting of accidents
  • Completing all risk assessments before any work is undertaken
  • Ensure that all site related documents are completed and updated daily, ensuring attention to detail is maintained and the information captured is transparent and accurate
  • You will take ownership of any site issues and work with others to ensure that a resolution is found and documented
  • Communicate with your Lead Engineer/ Network Maintenance Manager on issues as they occur.
  • Working as a Hyperoptic engineer and you will need to build good working relationships across the business.
  • Delivering an excellent customer experience for the customer.
  • Attend or Run all tool box talks, team meeting and team calls with your colleagues to ensure compliance and standards are met.

What we are looking for:

  • Full UK Driving license required with no more than 6 points on your license
  • Good IT literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience of working in BT Exchanges and Data Centre\'s or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience within Telecommunications Industry
  • Be flexible and can-do attitude
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Strong communications skills
  • Tenacity and determination to deliver results
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
