About the role and the Team:
Senior Finance Analyst – a hybrid role combining FP&A reporting with Commercial Finance business partnering. This role will take ownership on financial reporting for support function business teams, as well as month-end processes. Ensure that Finance as a function is providing quality analysis on monthly results and challenging the business to ensure spend aligns with operational KPIs. Will collaborate effectively and work closely with the wider finance team, business partner teams and other functions to support required analysis.
What will you be doing?
- Monthly Reporting
- Ownership of designated month-end procedures as well as involvement in month-end workshops to ensure deadlines are met to communicate financial results to the business and the Board.
- Work closely with Central Finance and Commercial Finance to ensure that postings are accurate (including adherence to capitalisation policy), reflect the organisational structure and allow for detailed variance analysis vs budget/forecast position.
- Provide support to wider FP&A team and Commercial Finance to enable detailed understanding of headcount spend.
- Prepare financial results presentations to be shared with Executive team monthly at Executive Operational meetings. Gain an overarching understanding of the business as well as a higher-level understanding of business partnering functions.
- Budgeting + Forecasting
- Own Re-forecast and Budget templates for each business partnering team to facilitate the review of spend trends and budget variances with key stakeholders.
- Monitor headcount vs budget by division, keeping active files to reflect current and forecast position, to enable effective forecasting and resource planning. Provide analysis and support to ensure that all proposed pay and headcount revisions are within budget.
- Ensure deadlines are hit for budget submissions to allow for detailed analysis and challenge back on cost plans for the business.
- Partner to Business teams
- Create and share monthly spend reports with support functions to inform management of key drivers for performance in month and year to date compared to budget and forecast.
- Assist COO, Supply Chain and People teams in preparation of annual budget and forecasts.
- Ensure data accuracy when producing high quality reports that are circulated to the business to illustrate clear analysis and further drive decisive action.
What we are looking for?
- Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA
- Previously held finance roles, including involvement in month end processes
- Detailed analysis of financial data (GL transactions)
- Familiarity with payroll postings and headcount reporting
- Close attention to detail and analytical frame of mind
- Confidence in interactions with staff across all department and at all levels
