About the role and the Team

Business Partner the ISP Leadership team and their direct reports by providing financial analysis, challenge and insight. The role is critical to improving the level of business partnering, influence and financial management across a rapidly growing business. Utilise robust, relevant financial models and commercial analysis to support commercial decisions and Budget delivery. Provide financial support relating to business cases, trading and pricing activity. Manage revenue forecasting and budgeting processes. Provide support to new/growing business areas such as Voyager and Business. The role will work closely with other finance colleagues in Commercial Finance, FP&A and Central Finance to drive ambitious revenue growth, financial planning, reporting and governance across ISP revenue.

What will you be doing?

  • Commercial Analysis and Performance Management
    • Prepare business cases and commercial analysis to evaluate new products, propositions, pricing strategies.
    • Work with the commercial teams to analyse trends, performance against targets and management of risks/opportunities to optimise revenue performance.
  • Reporting and Control
    • Preparation of month end departmental packs, and finalising monthly close, working with Senior Commercial Finance Analyst, FP&A and Central finance, and completing value add insight and impact assessment, combining both financial and non-financial data to drive action.
    • Work with the Senior Finance Analyst and Analyst to define and maintain a relevant and insightful suite of revenue/ARPU reports.
    • Constantly seeking efficiencies and improvements in reporting and insights based on business needs, changing trends and system developments.
    • Work with Customer Finance, FP&A and Accounting to ensure integrity of reporting and processes, and financial control.
  • Forecasting and Planning
    • Working with FP&A to drive budget and re-forecasts, feeding in detailed plans.
    • Work closely with FP&A and team to produce Long Term Plan updates.
    • Work with Head of Commercial Finance and Senior Commercial Finance Analyst to provide additional analysis and commentary for monthly Board packs.
  • Decision Support
    • Business partner strategic/new revenue areas such as off-net, Business and Business Development to ensure robust commercial support across all of ISP.
    • Ad-hoc analysis to support Head of Commercial Finance and Director of Commercial Finance and business partners as required.
    • Supporting Head of Commercial Finance and leading on "Deep Dive" analysis and presentation of Board slides, at request of the board.
    • Working cross-functionally with divisional teams and other areas of business including BI, Data, Strategy to drive actions from month end reviews.
  • Line Management
    • Coach and develop one direct report, aligning objectives with business delivery with analyst development plans.

What we are looking for?

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent credential).
  • Hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, month-end close processes, and variance analysis.
  • Previous experience working with senior non-financial stakeholders – translating financials and data analysis to influence decision making.
  • Ability to translate data analysis into meaningful insight to drive actions.
  • Attention to detail with ability to focus on wider implications.
  • Strong numerical aptitude.
  • Experience working in the telecommunications industry - DESIRABLE.
  • Experience with Sage and Tableau/Data visualisation tools - DESIRABLE.
