The Field Maintenance Strategy, Obsolescence & Delivery Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, planning, and delivery of field maintenance and asset lifecycle initiatives across the network portfolio. The role focuses on driving proactive maintenance practices, managing asset obsolescence, and ensuring the effective delivery of field programmes.
What will you be doing?
- Field Portfolio Ownership: Own the delivery and performance of the field network portfolio, ensuring assets are maintained effectively and aligned with operational priorities. Monitor asset performance and maintenance outcomes to drive improvements in reliability and service continuity.
- Proactive Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies to reduce incidents, prevent repeat failures, and improve overall network resilience. Analyze maintenance and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for preventive interventions.
- Asset Obsolescence Management: Define and execute the asset obsolescence strategy and long-term roadmap for field infrastructure. Identify aging or unsupported technologies and develop mitigation, replacement, or upgrade plans to ensure ongoing operational capability.
- Field Programme Delivery: Provide PMO leadership for field programmes, ensuring structured governance, planning, and reporting. Oversee programme delivery to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Risk & Performance Management: Ensure clear risk identification, mitigation planning, and escalation across maintenance and field delivery programmes. Track and report on delivery performance, programme milestones, and key operational metrics.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, supply chain, and project teams to coordinate maintenance activities and programme delivery. Provide clear communication and reporting to senior stakeholders on asset health, risks, and programme progress.

What we are looking for?
- Strong experience in field maintenance, asset management, or infrastructure operations within a telco/broadband organisation
- Proven ability to develop and implement proactive maintenance and reliability strategies.
- Experience managing asset obsolescence and lifecycle planning.
- Demonstrated programme or project management capability, including PMO governance and delivery oversight.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret operational and maintenance data.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Creating and managing budgets.
- Commercially astute, able to identify TCO and compare benefits between different options.
- Able to understand the key points from contracts and agreements.
- Full and clean driving licence is a must.
