About Hyperlayer
Hyperlayer is the intelligent banking platform built for the agentic economy: the financial control layer that sits above banks' existing cores, enabling next-generation Smart Accounts, without ripping anything out. From a single integration, we give financial institutions a secure rules and orchestration engine that lets them design, launch and scale hyper-personalized products in weeks while preserving stability, compliance and control. And there’s nothing like us anywhere in the world.
Hyperlayer works with Tier 1 and Tier 2 FIs across the UK, US, EMEA and Hong Kong, with an award-winning UK consumer app (HyperJar) sitting in the group. We’re creating the fintech category that every bank in the world needs: programmable, governed, agent-ready accounts. Your job is to make sure our audiences know that.
About The Role
- This is a hands-on, full-cycle recruitment role combined with real ownership over how Talent Acquisition works at our company. You\'ll recruit across all functions, but with particular depth needed in Tech and Commercial hiring, across both our UK and growing international footprint (including the US), while also shaping the processes, tools, and structures that let us scale sustainably.
- This is an office-based role (4 days per week) in our WeWork office in Paddington.
- Full-cycle recruitment
- Own end-to-end recruitment for roles across Engineering, Product, Sales, Marketing, and other functions as needed
- Recruit across both the UK and our growing international locations, including the US, adapting sourcing and process to local market norms
- Partner closely with hiring managers to define role requirements, hiring criteria, and interview processes
- Source proactively (not just relying on inbound) using LinkedIn Recruiter and other channels
- Manage candidate pipelines, interview loops, offer processes, and negotiations, including navigating differences in employment practices across markets
- Take initiative to design and implement scalable recruitment processes, structures, and workflows appropriate for our growth stage
- Establish clear hiring frameworks (scorecards, structured interviews, competency frameworks)
- Define and track recruitment metrics (time-to-hire, pipeline conversion, source effectiveness, etc.) and report on these to leadership
- Continuously improve our employer brand and candidate attraction strategy
- Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers and senior leadership on hiring strategy, market insights, and role scoping
- Manage a high volume of concurrent roles across functions while keeping stakeholders aligned and informed
- Ensure a consistently excellent candidate experience, from first contact through onboarding handoff
- Own and improve our recruitment tech stack, including our ATS (Rippling) - identifying gaps and implementing improvements to workflows, reporting, and automation
- Use AI tools (including Claude) to improve recruitment efficiency - e.g. job description drafting, candidate screening support, interview scheduling, sourcing outreach, and reporting
- Champion the adoption of AI-enabled ways of working and support the wider company's ambition to embed AI across every function
- As an early/dedicated People hire in a fast-growing startup, be willing to flex beyond a standard recruitment remit and support wider HR processes where needed — e.g. onboarding, offboarding, and other People operations
- Bring the same process-building mindset to these areas as you do to recruitment, helping us professionalize People operations more broadly as we scale
- You should apply if you have:
- Substantial, demonstrable recruitment experience across both Tech (Engineering/Product) and Commercial (Sales/Marketing) hiring - this is non-negotiable
- Proven experience recruiting in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment, ideally fintech or adjacent
- Experience recruiting in the UK, with openness and adaptability to hiring across international markets
- Strong track record of building or improving recruitment processes from a fairly ad hoc/early stage into something structured and scalable
- Excellent stakeholder management skills; confident advising and challenging hiring managers and senior leaders
- Proficient with LinkedIn Recruiter for proactive sourcing
- Comfortable and enthusiastic using AI tools (e.g. Claude or similar LLMs) as part of day-to-day recruitment work
- Experience working with an ATS, with the ability to help us get more value out of our current setup
- A flexible, roll-up-your-sleeves mindset — willing to support wider HR/People processes (e.g. onboarding, offboarding) beyond core recruitment when needed
- Experience hiring in the US specifically (highly valued given our growing US team) — understanding of US employment practices, market compensation norms, and candidate expectations
- Experience hiring internationally or across multiple time zones more broadly
- Experience setting up recruitment operations from scratch (e.g. as a first or early TA hire)
We value our team and are proud to offer some great benefits:
- A performance-based employee bonus scheme.
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, a day off on your birthday, and an additional day per year of tenure to a maximum of 30.
- Critical illness and life insurance cover.
- AXA PPP Health Insurance, including gym offers.
- Cycle-to-work scheme.
- Referral bonus scheme.
- Workplace nursery scheme
