About the Role
We are expanding our Developer Experience & Documentation team and are looking for a skilled and experienced API Technical Writer. This handsâon role thrives at the intersection of Product, Technology and customer needs, championing bestâinâclass documentation strategies for our rapidly scaling platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for products, APIs and platform integrations, including conceptual overviews, stepâbyâstep guides, API reference materials and troubleshooting resources.
- Collaborate proactively with Engineering, Product Management, Partnerships and Delivery teams to understand technical solutions, integration patterns and customer requirements.
- Interview subjectâmatter experts to extract knowledge and build deep expertise in our financial services and orchestration ecosystem.
- Translate complex banking and API concepts into clear, concise and engaging documentation tailored to diverse technical audiences, from developers and platform partners to business analysts.
- Define, evolve and advocate for documentation standards, style guides, templates and best practices, establishing a scalable documentation "guild" across the organization.
- Evaluate, implement and optimise docsâasâcode toolchains (Markdown, OpenAPI/Swagger, YAML, version control, static site generators) that support continuous delivery and content quality.
- Champion a userâcentred approach by gathering and analysing user feedback, anticipating developer pain points and iteratively improving content.
- Develop and deliver multimedia content (tutorials, visuals, interactive content and videos) to support comprehensive onboarding and product adoption.
- Support product launches with highâquality technical content, including release notes and integration guides.
- Drive innovation in technical communication, experimenting with emerging documentation formats and delivery methods.
Qualifications Required
- 3â5+ years of experience as a technical writer in fastâpaced software, fintech or APIâfocused environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in creating developer documentation, especially for APIs and platform products.
- Handsâon experience with docsâasâcode workflows (Markdown, YAML, OpenAPI/Swagger, Git, content automation).
- Strong technical acumenâable to quickly understand and communicate complex software and integration concepts with attention to clarity, accuracy and usability.
- Proven ability to work crossâfunctionally, collaborating with engineering, product and partner teams.
- Deep empathy for developer/endâuser experience and a passion for championing documentation improvements.
- Exceptional written and visual communication skills, with keen attention to detail and consistency.
- Adaptability and initiative in managing multiple priorities and projects in a fastâmoving environment.
Preferred
- Experience in B2B fintech, financial services, SaaS or platformâbased solutions.
- Exposure to enterprise integration, API onboarding and developer advocacy.
- Ability to create tutorials and multimedia instructional content.
- Experience in both startup and largeâscale organisational settings.
