About the role
We are seeking a hands‑on visionary Product Manager with strong domain expertise in Banking and Financial Services. The role combines the strategic vision of a Product Manager with the operational discipline of a Product Operations function. The role will lead the design, delivery and adoption of our platform. You’ll own the Product vision, translate strategy into roadmaps and ensure execution is predictable, measurable and aligned with business outcomes. This is an opportunity for someone who deeply understands how banking works with accounts, balances, transactions and compliance, and also drives metrics, dashboards and ways of working that make a lean product organisation operate at scale. You will work with engineering managers to define APIs, ledgers, workflows and account features that are secure, compliant and scalable. This is a senior role requiring deep financial services expertise, strong technical acumen and proven delivery in core banking or account systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and deliver the product vision covering account types, hierarchies and modular services. Translate business needs and customer insights into roadmaps, themes, OKRs, epics and features. Advocate for programmable finance and bring that vision to life in the platform. Build a roadmap aligned with client needs, regulatory compliance and emerging market trends.
- Execution & Delivery: Own the product backlog, write clear user stories and acceptance criteria, and partner with Engineering Managers to design ledger systems, APIs and event‑driven flows for account management. Act as a gatekeeper ensuring only validated, prioritised and measurable work enters the cadence. Communicate product direction, progress and impact clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
- Product Ops Discipline: Build and maintain the product metric framework (adoption, engagement, retention, delivery and sprint health). Design dashboards and reporting that provide one source of truth for leadership. Standardise ways of working, sprint cadence, backlog hygiene and governance rituals to keep teams aligned.
- Client & Market Alignment: Collaborate with clients, compliance teams and market experts to ensure account services meet regulatory and operational standards. Translate user needs into features and user stories that can be incrementally delivered.
- Standards & Governance: Advocate for consistent standards across Hyperlayer’s platform. Ensure security, resilience and compliance are built into every release.
- Insights & KPIs: Define KPIs such as account adoption, transaction throughput and operational efficiency. Continuously use customer feedback and data to improve account capabilities.
You should apply if you have:
- Minimum 10 years experience in product management within banking, financial services or fintech.
- Proven expertise in accounts ledger systems and financial product design.
- Strong technical background with the ability to define APIs, event‑driven workflows and modular architecture.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering teams on system design.
- Experience working in Agile environments with structured product operating models.
- Hands‑on experience with Agile ways of working and tools (Jira, Confluence, analytics platforms).
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance (KYC, AML, PSD2 / Open Banking).
- Demonstrated ability to deliver complex financial products at scale.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to simplify and articulate complex ideas.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail with ability to anticipate edge cases.
- Ownership mindset accountable for delivery, adoption and impact.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with account hierarchies, shared/joint and virtual accounts and embedded finance account models.
- Exposure to digital wallets, account aggregation or open banking APIs.
- Track record of delivering core account systems at scale.
