Location: Regional role – England & Wales (with travel)

This is a genuinely rewarding role, offering the opportunity to play a key part in maintaining and improving high-quality retirement housing for those who have served the Church of England. You’ll take ownership of void and major works delivery across a regional portfolio, ensuring homes are safe, compliant, and ready to be re-let to a high standard.
Core focus of the role
As Voids Maintenance Manager, you will deliver a customer-focused and technically robust property and asset management service across a regional patch of approximately 300–350 homes.
Day-to-day of the role
- Managing void refurbishment and major works programmes within an annual budget of c. £1.5m–£2m
- Inspecting empty properties and determining works required prior to reletting or disposal
- Managing contractors, consultants, and service providers to ensure quality, compliance, and value for money
- Overseeing complex works and disrepair cases in occupied homes, working closely with residents
- Ensuring compliance with H&S, CDM, HHSRS, asbestos, and building control requirements
- Tracking budgets, approving payments, managing variations, and reporting on spend and performance
- Working collaboratively with Property Services, Acquisitions & Disposals, Compliance, and Housing colleagues
This is a regional role with regular site visits and occasional overnight stays. You’ll also attend the Westminster office periodically for meetings and training.

You Will Ideally Have
- Proven experience managing works within occupied housing
- Strong technical knowledge of residential construction, maintenance, and building defects
- Experience delivering void refurbishment programmes
- A solid understanding of housing compliance and H&S, including HHSRS
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with residents
- Experience managing contractors, consultants, and budgets
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office and housing systems)
- A relevant construction qualification (HND, degree, or equivalent experience)
- A full UK driving licence
- Experience in retirement or older persons’ housing is desirable but not essential
