Hyperion Partners are working in partnership with a respected Housing Association to recruit a Service Charge Accountant to join their finance team.

Salary - £50k. Contract – Permanent. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in finance or accounting—or currently working towards a professional qualification—who is looking to develop their career within the housing sector.

Role

You will play a key role in the preparation, reconciliation, and management of service charge accounts, ensuring accurate cost allocation and compliance with lease agreements and regulatory requirements. Working closely with finance and operational teams, you will support the delivery of transparent and accurate service charge processes while contributing to continuous improvement across the function.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and reconcile service charge accounts
  • Analyse and allocate costs in line with lease agreements and policies
  • Support the production and issuance of annual service charge statements
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting for service charge schemes
  • Investigate and resolve service charge queries
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to validate financial data
  • Support audit processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting

Essential

  • Experience in finance, accounting, or a related discipline
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Good Excel skills and ability to work with financial data

Desirable

  • Experience within housing, property, or service charge accounting
  • Studying towards or qualified in AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
  • Understanding of leasehold or service charge processes
