We are now looking for a Head of Finance to provide top-tier financial leadership to our eCommerce clients. This is a strategic and hands-on client-facing role, perfect for someone looking to transition into a CFO position in a fast-growing, innovative finance business.

As Head of Finance, you’ll work directly with eCommerce businesses, providing them with financial strategy, forecasting, and data-driven insights. You’ll act as a trusted CFO-level advisor to clients, helping them optimize profitability, cash flow, and growth strategies.

You’ll bring a mix of commercial finance, FP&A, and strategic financial insight—with a strong understanding of DTC business models, unit economics, and the key drivers of eCommerce profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Advisory & Financial Leadership
    • Act as a Head of Finance for a portfolio of eCommerce businesses, providing strategic financial direction.
    • Help clients understand, analyse, and optimize their financial performance, focusing on growth and profitability.
    • Develop financial playbooks, strategies, and insights tailored to eCommerce brands.
    • Partner with founders and operators to navigate funding, cash flow management, and investment decisions.
  • eCommerce Financial Strategy
    • Guide clients on DTC financial best practices, including contribution margin optimization, inventory financing, and cash flow forecasting.
    • Build financial models, forecasts, and scenario planning tools to support client decision-making.
    • Provide insights on key eCommerce metrics like CAC, LTV, payback periods, and breakeven ROAS.
    • Support pricing, discounting, and profitability strategies tailored to scaling brands.
  • Performance Reporting & Data Insights
    • Work with clients to implement real-time financial reporting and dashboards, ensuring they have clear visibility on performance.
    • Analyse key financial and operational data to provide actionable recommendations for growth and efficiency.
    • Help clients track and improve profitability across different sales channels (Shopify, Amazon, marketplaces, wholesale, etc.).
  • Funding, Capital & Cash Flow Management
    • Advise on fundraising strategies, whether equity, debt, or alternative financing options.
    • Support brands with working capital planning, including inventory financing and supplier terms negotiation.
    • Optimize cash flow strategies, ensuring businesses can scale sustainably without running into liquidity challenges.
  • Systems, Automation & Financial Tech
    • Help clients implement automation and financial tools to streamline reporting and forecasting.
    • Work with eClarity’s internal data team to enhance financial insights and dashboards for clients.
What We’re Looking For

We’re after a high-calibre, commercially minded finance leader who thrives in a dynamic, client-facing role.

Must-Have Skills & Experience:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in a finance leadership role, preferably working with eCommerce, SaaS, or DTC brands.
  • Deep understanding of eCommerce financials, including customer acquisition costs, LTV modelling, and contribution margins.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial insights in a clear, actionable way to founders and operators.
  • Experience in financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic advisory for growth-stage businesses.
  • A strong commercial mindset—you understand what makes an eCommerce business profitable and scalable.
  • Ability to work independently and as a trusted finance partner to multiple clients.
Nice-to-Have:
  • Experience as a HOF or finance lead in a DTC business.
  • Familiarity with Shopify, Amazon, and eCommerce-specific financial tools.
  • Experience advising on fundraising, venture debt, or alternative financing.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero.
