We’ve partnered with the exciting high growth personalised jewellery brand Abbott Lyon as we search for a Head of Product Design and Innovation to join their exciting team! This is a fantastic opportunity to join Abbott Lyon on their journey, leading product design to further enhance their proposition of creating beautiful, personalised, and meaningful jewellery alongside a complementary collection of lifestyle accessories such as watches and bags. The brand USP is the made-to-order custom proposition, where customers can create something that is truly unique, made especially for them or the person they are gifting.

Abbott Lyon’s focus is on creating high quality, stylish and meaningful jewellery designs with thoughtful and personal touches.

About the role

The Head of Product Design will be responsible for the product design team, covering jewellery, watches, accessories & homeware design. They will report directly to the Product Director and will mix their product design expertise with a commercial mindset, identifying opportunities to further develop both the design process and Abbott Lyon products, whilst guiding a high performing team focused on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Leader of the product design department, overseeing & managing the team, closely supported by the Lead Jewellery and Lead Accessories designers.
  • Build highly structured product development and design plans for the year, closely aligned with the wider business objectives, campaigns & deadlines.
  • Build the best-in-class personalised jewellery & accessories proposition with an obsession around innovative personalisation in the affordable luxury space.
  • Develop our internal design team to be able to produce CAD drawings and 3D print concepts. The team currently use Rhino.
  • Work with our Buying and Product Development Team, partnering with the Head of Buying and PD, to oversee the Product Critical Path from idea to launch in a highly organised and commercial way.
  • Propose exciting initiatives for category expansion and plans to design, test and roll out.
  • Be obsessed with customer insights, trend forecasts, and data. Ensuring our product development roadmap is on trend and customer-centric.
  • Be commercially minded, looking for ways to maintain quality but enhance margin.
  • Play a key role in the brand sustainability objectives.

  • A highly experienced product designer in the jewellery and accessories space with advanced skills in 2D and 3D CAD.
