We’ve partnered with the exciting ecom finance agency, eClarity, as we search for an Assistant Finance Manager to join their scaling team! This is a fantastic opportunity to join a brand working with some of the most disruptive growth brands in the industry, to enable success for these brands through a deep understanding and control of their numbers.

In addition, eClarity has raised over 100m USD in debt/equity financing for its portfolio companies over the past number of years. About the Role: Our goal is simple - to help our clients build better businesses. We do this by getting the foundations right from bookkeeping to financial control to cash flow management to margin optimisation. We strive for automation and continuously seek improvement in everything we do, minimising menial manual processes as we go. The goal is to free up as much time as possible for the team to focus on value added strategic work. You would be joining us to help with all these things. Getting stuck in to build amazing brands, and growing our clients to the next level, unlocked from the solid financial foundations you help them build, turning finance into a really valuable function that gives our clients accuracy, visibility & strategic direction enabling them to make informed decisions at pace. At the same time, you’ll help define, refine and grow our own financial capability, here at eClarity. You’ll work closely with the finance manager and assistant accountants, ensuring that bookkeeping and the foundations of the financial data for each client is accurate and timely, before assisting with month end duties and adhoc client tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Weekly communication with clients via Slack and Google Meet
  • Overseeing the daily Xero reconciliation (invoices and bank feeds) completed by the assistant accountants.
  • Assist in managing, maintaining and reviewing any further work of assistant accountants
  • Weekly payment runs
  • Profit and Loss Sense checks
  • Balance sheet reconciliations at month end; maintain the fixed asset register, ensure banks are reconciled accurately and balance match statements, prepayment / accruals, credit accounts, wages, PAYE reconciliations, VAT reconciliations
  • Prepare for review quarterly VAT returns
  • Weekly stock & stock in transit reconciliation alongside Finance Manager
  • Monthly cost of goods check with clients
  • Manage and maintain a client compliance tracker for tax / compliance submissions (Year end, VAT returns, US sales tax returns, EU VAT returns etc)
  • Support on the preparation of enhanced monthly management packs
  • Support with forecasts, budgets, cashflows, and financial models
  • Support the Finance Manager / CFO on strategic projects/analysis
  • Assist clients with any further adhoc tasks
  • Working with and learning from the Finance Manager

Requirements:

  • AAT Level 3 or 4 Qualified as a minimum
  • Proven experience in a month-end accounting role
  • Excellent understanding of double entry bookkeeping
  • Comfortable working with multiple clients with varying needs
  • Self starter – can own work and hold themselves accountable
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail

Desirable:

  • ACA/ACCA starter
  • Experience in eCommerce accounting and / or digital business models
