We are currently recruiting a Research Scientist to join a leading Biopharmaceutical company based in the Berkshire area. As the Research Scientist, you will be responsible for supporting and expanding capabilities in exploratory work and in vitro assay development within the Antibody & Novel Therapeutics group.
This is an initial 12 month contract with likely extension.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Explore and evaluate nucleic acid modalities, including DNA, RNA, and oligonucleotides, both as critical research tools and potential therapeutic agents.
- Investigate non-viral delivery systems, such as lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), to enhance delivery to immune cells and other relevant targets.
- Design and execute cell-based assays in cell lines and primary cells to assess the efficacy and delivery of nucleic acid-based modalities.
- Analyse experimental data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and contribute to data interpretation and reporting.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant degree in cell biology, immunology, or related.
- Proven industry experience in cell culture including primary immune cells (e.g. Human PMBCs, T-Cells, B-Cells).
- A working knowledge and practical experience with nucleic acid technologies and delivery systems such as lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) or viral carriers.
