We are currently looking for a Data Steward to join a leading pharmaceutical organisation based in the Berkshire area, with hybrid working. As the Data Steward you will be responsible for ensuring wholesaler and agent sales transactions are matched accurately to the correct UK customer within the customer relationship management (CRM) master list. Working within the Trade function, you will maintain the trusted account data behind commercial reporting, contracts, tendering, rebates and government pharmaceutical contribution calculations. Your work will also support customer targeting, segmentation, incentive compensation and omnichannel activity across pharmacies, hospitals, clinics and other healthcare organisations. This role is an initial 6 month contract with possibility of extension.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own end-to-end matching of wholesaler and agent transactions to IQVIA OneKey organisation and healthcare organisation identifiers.
- Resolve unmatched, duplicate and low-confidence records using agreed rules, thresholds and tie-break logic.
- Maintain documented crosswalks between wholesaler account codes, ship-to and bill-to identifiers, OneKey records and procurement authorities, recording one-to-one and one-to-many relationships accurately.
- Reconcile multiple sources into a single trusted account view, maintaining parent-child relationships, affiliations, pharmacy groups, buying groups, NHS trusts and health boards.
- Keep regional and national NHS purchasing hierarchies aligned, including integrated care boards and systems, so commercial reporting, tender submissions, contract allocation and rebate calculations use the correct account structures.
- Monitor match rates by volume and value, unmatched sales value, duplicates, exception ageing and resolution times.
- Investigate recurring issues such as address variations, closures, mergers and delayed reference updates.
- Work with Trade, Sales Operations, Market Access, Finance, Analytics, Incentive Compensation, Legal and technical colleagues to prioritise high-value exceptions and support accurate government contribution calculations.
- Engage wholesalers and data providers on file quality and delivery, guide commercial users on data standards, and identify opportunities for automation and improved fuzzy matching.
- Success will include stronger matching performance, fewer ageing exceptions, timely resolution against agreed service levels and reliable mapping inputs without reporting exceptions.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in data stewardship, master data management or commercial data operations, ideally within pharmaceuticals or life sciences.
- Expertise in large, multi-source datasets, account creation, reconciliation, governance and lifecycle management, supported by a detailed understanding of NHS organisation structures and their commercial reporting implications.
- Strong working expertise in IQVIA OneKey data structures, including how organisation records are sourced, maintained and used commercially.
- Practical knowledge of golden records, survivorship rules, deduplication, hierarchies and match/merge processes, alongside proficiency in Excel and Snowflake SQL for profiling, reconciliation and exception analysis.
- Strong analytical judgement, attention to detail and clear communication with technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Relevant additional experience includes pharmaceutical CRM platforms, wholesaler sell-in, sell-out and agent data, the UK pharmaceutical supply chain, Power BI, UK data protection requirements, the pharmaceutical industry code of practice, and government pharmaceutical contribution and pricing rebate mechanisms.
