ROLE OVERVIEWWe are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join a leading department within the analytical, forensic, and environmental sciences sector.
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to lead quality assurance activities and ensure compliance with internationally recognised standards in a dynamic research environment.
Based at our client's Waterloo Campus, you will work closely with senior leadership to uphold the highest standards of quality, accreditation, and laboratory integrity, supporting vital forensic and clinical testing services.
This role offers the chance to contribute significantly to the integrity and reliability of critical analytical work within a world-class institution.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESYour duties as the Quality Assurance Manager will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Lead and maintain the quality assurance programme, ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 17025, WADA ISL 2021, and relevant accreditation standards.
- Oversee internal audits, risk assessments, and process improvements to sustain and enhance laboratory accreditation and operational excellence.
- Investigate complex deviations or quality system failures using advanced analytical skills, recommending and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Advise senior management on quality requirements, accreditation standards, and implications of standard updates.
- As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will lead the QA team to ensure meticulous attention to detail, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
ROLE REQUIREMENTSTo be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Quality Assurance Manager we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
- A Degree or higher level in a natural or life science (e. g., Pharmacology, Chemistry, Environmental Science) or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience working within a laboratory quality framework, with proven knowledge of ISO 17025 and WADA ISL standards.
- Experience in conducting internal audits and implementing process improvements within a regulated environment.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and strategy implementation for quality system enhancements.
