Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Protein Science Lead to join an innovative drug development biotech based in the Cambridgeshire area. As the Protein Science Lead, you will be responsible for establishing and leading the laboratory operations, focusing on monoclonal and multi-specific antibody production and characterisation.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your duties as the Protein Science Lead will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:
1. Lead the design and development of internal monoclonal and multi-specific antibody production and characterisation capabilities.
2. Manage interactions with CROs to support pipeline execution as the company transitions from a virtual setup.
3. Oversee recruitment and line management to achieve company objectives.
4. Establish and maintain laboratory operations, ensuring alignment with the company's ambitious growth plans.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Protein Science Lead, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:
1. Relevant degree in a related field such as Biochemistry (PhD or MSc preferred).
2. Extensive industry experience in therapeutic protein and antibody production.
3. A working knowledge and practical experience with protein expression from mammalian cell lines (CHO/HEK), AKTA-based protein purification, and common protein characterisation methods.
