We are recruiting a Mechanical Engineer – Drug Delivery to join a leading Pharmaceutical Company in the Cambridgeshire area on an initial 6 month contract. As the Mechanical Engineer - Drug Delivery, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of innovative drug delivery devices, contributing to a pipeline of cutting‑edge products.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct technical assessments for drug delivery devices, including tolerance analysis, functional performance mathematical modelling, and FEA simulations.
- Execute detailed design for components and systems, from prototype stage to commercial tooling, using 3D CAD and engineering drawings.
- Collaborate with suppliers to procure and optimise parts, such as moulded components, and provide input into material review and selection for device components.
- Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and report technical complaints, adverse events, or special case scenarios related to products within 24 hours of receipt.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant degree in engineering or a related field.
- Proven industry experience in developing high‑volume products, ideally medical or drug delivery devices.
- A working knowledge and practical experience with 3D CAD systems, preferably SolidWorks, and a solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, and materials science.
