We are recruiting a Global Category Manager – R&D to join a leading Pharmaceutical company in the London/Berkshire area. As the Global Category Manager – R&D, you will be responsible for overseeing a preclinical spend area within Global R&D outsourced activities. This role offers a unique chance to shape sourcing strategies and manage supplier relationships, contributing significantly to the company's success. This is a contract initially until the end of September, with possibility of extension. The role is ideally hybrid with 2 days p/w presence in Berkshire, but fully remote working can be offered for the right candidate.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement best‑in‑class sourcing strategies for a defined R&D portfolio, aligning with the Global Category strategy.
  • Perform spend data collection, cleaning, assessment, and analysis using internal tools and consulting with subject matter experts.
  • Lead strategic sourcing and value creation initiatives to improve service quality and supply, resulting in cost savings across functional units.
  • Provide guidance on external supplier management, market intelligence, and process requirements to stakeholders.

Role Requirements

  • Relevant degree in a scientific or business‑related field.
  • Proven industry experience in strategic sourcing or category management within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • A working knowledge and practical experience with supplier management and commercial negotiations.
