Are you an experienced Facilities Manager looking for an exciting new opportunity? A leading organisation in Edinburgh are looking for a Facilities Manager to join their team on site. As the Facilities Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of buildings and associated plant and equipment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver an efficient planned maintenance service to minimise breakdowns, including managing external contractors to coordinate and schedule pre‑planned maintenance.
  • Manage the activities of the Engineering and Facilities teams to ensure the smooth running of the Department and provide additional support/management to the Electrical Engineers.
  • Ensure the BMS system maintains all required environment parameters for people and animals to avoid unsafe and stressful environments.
  • Provide advice to colleagues and tenants on new builds or fit‑outs to contribute to successful projects.

Role Requirements

  • Relevant Facilities Management or Engineering qualification, or extensive experience in a similar role or environment.
  • Proven industry experience in mechanical and electrical systems, BMS, PPM, HVAC, Steam Systems, Safe Systems of Work, and Health & Safety (CDM Regulations).
  • A working knowledge and practical experience with managing teams and contractors, finance – budget management, procurement, authorisation of invoices, and purchase orders.
