A leading Science and Technology business for the food and drink sector is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join their ambitious team. As the Senior Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving growth and promoting our client’s portfolio across analysis, testing, and technical consultancy. This role offers the chance to find new customers, build strong partnerships, and strategically boost sales. This is a remote/home-based contract, with 1-2 days on site every few months.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reporting into the Associate Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for growing and promoting services across analysis, testing and technical consultancy, through active business development, targeted campaigns, and working closely with operational/technical stakeholders to identify new sales opportunities.
- Proactive business development – Identify and interpret key market trends and sales data to generate revenue, targeted sales campaigns, and long-term partnership opportunities.
- Driving market share and revenue, identifying new customers, and upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Lead business development activities for new or existing business, upselling or cross-selling to new or existing clients, including coordination of responses to new and existing opportunities across the business.
- Maintain records of all account engagements through CRM and other management reporting as required.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant degree qualification in a Science or Technology related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- You will have proven industry experience in a consultative, technical sales environment selling Analytical and/or Microbiology testing and technical services to the food and drink industry.
- A strong communicator and team player, with the ability to work unsupervised in a target-oriented environment.
