A highly successful mid-sized pharmaceutical company is seeking an experienced Alliance Manager to join its Corporate Development and Partnerships team. This is a rare opportunity to work directly with senior executive leadership and play a visible role in shaping the success of strategic global partnerships. Operating in a highly collaborative hybrid environment, you will act as the key relationship lead for a portfolio of strategic alliances spanning development, commercialisation, supply, and corporate initiatives.

The Opportunity

As Alliance Manager, you will be responsible for maximising the value of complex external partnerships, ensuring alignment between internal stakeholders and partner organisations while driving delivery against strategic objectives. You will engage with senior leaders across functions including Commercial, Business Development, Finance, Legal, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Quality and R&D, helping to navigate challenges, mitigate risk, and create long-term value from key collaborations. This role offers exceptional visibility across the organisation and provides a genuine platform for career progression within a dynamic and growing pharmaceutical business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of strategic international partnerships and alliances.
  • Build trusted relationships with partner organisations and senior internal stakeholders.
  • Drive collaboration and alignment across multiple business functions.
  • Support governance activities, steering committees, and executive-level meetings.
  • Identify and resolve operational, strategic and relationship challenges.
  • Interpret and manage contractual obligations, milestones and partnership commitments.
  • Support negotiations relating to partnership changes, amendments and business priorities.
  • Monitor alliance performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide partnership input into corporate development and business growth activities.
  • Champion alliance management best practice across the organisation.

About You

You may come from Alliance Management, Partner Management, Licensing, Commercial Operations or a similar strategic role within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector. You will bring:

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Business or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience managing complex partnerships within pharma or biotech.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of collaborative business models.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Experience working with contracts, governance structures and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic mindset combined with strong operational execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
