We are currently looking for an R&D Scientist to join a leading biotechnology company based in the Berkshire area. As the R&D Scientist, you will be responsible for delivering high-value technical innovation through specialist analytical projects and wider R&D collaborations.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform experiments, analyze and report results in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- Review results accuracy to draw scientific conclusions linked to experimental goals.
- Develop skills and expertise in the Protein Function and Interaction area, focusing on product binding (e.g., ELISA, Octet, Biacore), metabolic changes (e.g., enzymatic assays), and characterization of Mode of Action (MoA) through cell-based assays.
- Develop analytical skills using a range of chromatography-based approaches such as Protein-A affinity and SEC.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Relevant degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biomanufacturing, or a related field.
- Proven industry experience in analytical techniques with applications to product functional characterization.
- A working knowledge and practical experience with aseptic techniques, cell cultures, ELISA, Octet/SPR, and chromatography.
