ROLE OVERVIEW
We are currently looking for a Senior Biotechnology Manager to join a leading organisation within the biopharmaceutical sector.
Based in a strategic location, this exciting opportunity offers a chance to lead high-impact projects and develop innovative biologics solutions, supporting our client's commitment to cutting-edge therapeutics development.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will oversee the Synthetic and Mammalian Upstream Team, providing technical direction and operational excellence.
You will drive team performance, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure the delivery of complex biologics projects, from process development through to scale-up, within a highly regulated environment.
- KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide strategic leadership and technical expertise to the Synthetic and Mammalian Upstream Team, ensuring delivery of a broad portfolio of biologics development projects.
- Manage and support a multidisciplinary team focused on the development, validation, and scale-up of expression systems for biologics, including recombinant proteins, m RNA, and viral vectors.
- Lead by example, role-modeling our client's values and promoting a positive, ethical, and innovative work culture.
- Maintain rigorous compliance with SHE, GMP, Data Integrity, and other quality standards, ensuring all activities meet regulatory and company requirements.
- As the technical lead on projects, act as the primary contact for stakeholders and ensure the successful delivery of experimental work in alignment with project goals.
- ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- A Degree or higher level in a Scientific discipline (e. g., Biological Sciences, Bioprocessing, Biotechnology) plus relevant senior research or industrial leadership experience.
- Proven knowledge of upstream bioprocessing, particularly mammalian and synthetic expression systems, process scale-up, and process control strategies.
- Demonstrable expertise in biologics production techniques, cell biology, cell culture, and relevant analytical techniques.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing and managing effective scientific teams.
- Good understanding of GMP standards and Data Integrity principles within pharmaceutical or biotechnological manufacturing environments.
