ROLE OVERVIEW A leading company in the mining industry is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team at Boulby Mine, North Yorkshire. This 6-month fixed-term contract offers a unique chance to be part of a pioneering operation in the production of polyhalite, a multi-nutrient fertiliser marketed as Polysulphate. As the Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting analytical testing and quality control activities across mining and production operations. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Your duties as the Laboratory Technician will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows: 1. Conduct routine laboratory analysis on polyhalite, fertiliser products, and rock salt samples. 2. Perform chemical and physical testing in line with internal quality standards. 3. Prepare samples, reagents, and calibration standards. 4. Accurately record and report data using laboratory information systems. ROLE REQUIREMENTS: To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Laboratory Technician we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history: 1. Relevant degree in Chemistry, Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). 2. Proven industry experience in a laboratory or analytical environment. 3. A working knowledge and practical experience with basic chemistry and analytical techniques.
