ROLE OVERVIEW We are currently looking for a Clinical Scientist to join a leading healthcare company based in the Manchester area. As the Clinical Scientist, you will be responsible for leading a team of scientists delivering clinical molecular testing services, including Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing, within an ISO15189 and CQC accredited lab. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Your duties as the Clinical Scientist will be varied; however, the key duties and responsibilities are as follows: 1. Run clinical genetic testing services, providing NIPT and other complex genetic tests. 2. Supervise junior staff, ensuring they are trained and maintain their competence in laboratory methods used to provide clinical tests. 3. Develop and implement lab procedures to receive, track, and process clinical samples. 4. Provide expertise in the clinical interpretation of test results and communicate these results to clinicians. ROLE REQUIREMENTS: To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Clinical Scientist, we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history: 1. Relevant degree in biological science. 2. Proven industry experience in a clinical laboratory carrying out molecular genetics testing. 3. A working knowledge and practical experience with ISO 15189 Quality Management System.
