Role Description The Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Project Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in New Malden.

The individual in this role will manage end-to-end GIS projects, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, and risk management to ensure delivery on time and within scope.

Day-to-day activities include coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction, and quality teams, overseeing technical documentation, and supporting installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

The Project Manager will serve as a primary contact for customers and internal stakeholders, providing regular project updates, managing contract requirements, and addressing issues to maintain strong relationships.

The role also involves ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards, driving continuous improvement, and supporting business development through technical input on proposals and tender responses.

Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.

Candidates should possess Program Management and governance skills to oversee multiple related GIS or power system projects and align them with business objectives.

Candidates should possess Information Technology and Information Systems skills to work effectively with project management tools, documentation platforms, and technical data systems.

Candidates should possess Analytical Skills to interpret technical drawings, project metrics, and performance data, and to support sound decision-making.

Relevant experience in high-voltage GIS, power transmission and distribution, or heavy electrical equipment projects is highly beneficial.

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical discipline is preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate in cross-functional and multicultural teams.

Knowledge of UK and international standards, health and safety regulations, and contractual frameworks (e. g., NEC, FIDIC) is an advantage.
