Hyndburn Council is in good financial shape and has significant opportunities for future growth and development to benefit its residents. We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Finance to manage all aspects of our accountancy service and Administration services, ensuring that our systems and the work of the teams combine to produce quality information and excellent financial management across the Council.

You will need to be an experienced qualified accountant (preferably with public sector experience) with good communication and leadership skills, the ability to manage a large team facing an number of ambitious challenges and assist the Council in its wider desire to improve and modernise.

You will also need to be able to cope with the complexity of local authority finance but what’s equally important to us is that you can demonstrate our corporate values; that you are proactive and optimistic, with strong integrity and leadership skills, as well as technical expertise. You will be the Council’s deputy S151 officer in this role and this could be your opportunity to continue our improvement and advance your career to the next level.
