We have an exciting opportunity to join our Environmental Protection Team and support the Council’s commitment to ensuring a safe, healthy and sustainable environment for everyone who lives and works in our area. Our Environmental Protection Team forms part of the wider Environmental Health Service, which is dedicated to delivering high-quality services that meet the needs of our community. We are now looking for a motivated and proactive individual to help us continue this important work.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering the Service’s objectives by carrying out investigations and activities to achieve regulatory compliance. Your work will be varied, and may include:

  • Providing informal advice to residents, businesses and stakeholders
  • Conducting investigations and assessments
  • Taking appropriate formal action, including enforcement and prosecution, in line with codes of practice, guidance and Council policies

The team covers a wide range of Environmental Protection functions, including:

  • Statutory and noise nuisance
  • Air, land and water pollution
  • Private water supplies
  • Air quality
  • Contaminated land

We are looking for someone who:
