The purpose of this role is to provide professional, flexible and creative HR Partnering, HR advice and guidance to enable a first-class employee experience. This varied role will involve provision of proactive commercially focused, yet people-sensitive, HR advice and guidance to the business which covers all aspects of operational HR. This role also involves the delivery of discrete project work from inception to completion. This role works across the Business Unit(s) the HR Advisor supports and will work closely with HR Business Partners. This role will perform a variety of complex activities, with the freedom to make some operational decisions whilst applying creativity to find solutions to problems.
Though this is a varied role, your key tasks will include:
- Working with the HRBP to build relationships with key stakeholders within specific Business Units and understanding commercial impact/support.
- Advise, support and coach people managers in the correct application of HR policies and approaches.
- Manage employee relations cases from end to end which may include conduct, absence management or performance cases, with support from HR Business Partner as required.
- Provision of HR advice to employees, including advice around our HR policies and approaches provisions.
- Refine and operate key HR processes and procedures such as exit interviews, supporting visa renewal applications, family leave requests, flexible working requests, working abroad requests, and co-ordinate relevant correspondence with HR Assistants as well as ad hoc reporting for Business Units.
- Preparation and use of management information to identify trends/issues in conjunction with HR Business Partners.
- Provide support to HRBPs to implement change management initiatives.
- Facilitate people manager skills development sessions within the wider business with support from HRBPs and/or L&D team.
- Ensure accurate data is maintained on our HR system in relation to employee relations cases.
- Assist HR Business Partners with cyclical processes e.g. annual pay and bonus reviews in line with firm’s reward strategy.
- Support HRBPs to develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practices.
To enjoy and succeed in this role, you will have:
- A good grasp of employment law as well as a firm understanding of the workings and application of core HR processes.
- The ability to use initiative and make decisions with minimum guidance, within realm of responsibilities.
- Experience of solid demonstrable experience in an HR generalist advisory role, ideally in a professional services environment.
- Experience of guiding business managers in straightforward employee relations matters.
- The ability to take ownership of issues and see through to resolution whilst understanding when to escape if required.
- The ability to appreciate a commercial perspective whilst maintaining people-focus.
We would also encourage applications from candidates who perhaps do not possess all the attributes and experience listed above but are competent with the majority and would be able to quickly develop the additional skills and experience required in post with our full support.
